1. Masha Allah wa Alhamdulillah, I am in love with your memoir. Could you please tell us a little about your journey as an author?
Well, it was a learning experience (in) that I was going to relate my personal experiences and views to an unknown audience, (was) a bit unnerving but I thought I had a powerful story to share. On and off I got bogged down in trying to couch some intimate details of my story with some artistry. 1. Tell us your journey from an accountant to an authorpreneur.
It has been intriguing! Rumi said, “What you seek is seeking you.” It was true in my case because Allah put a coworker on my path with whom I started at the same time with at my first accounting job. Her husband is a writer, publisher, teacher and many other things. When she told me that, I immediately realized that she and I met for that purpose. Alhamdullilah. I have always wanted to publish books since I was a teenager but the opportunity to do so didn’t get in my face in such a way until I met this particular co-worker. I capitalized right away on that in-your-face opportunity and sat off to get my work out there. It wasn’t cheap but I invested in my dreams and it has paid off. Overall, it was a blessing masha’Allah.

I don’t know whether this is a good thing or not, but I love to try my skills at everything that I get fascinated with. This has made me a Jane of all trades, everything needs a touch of professional polishing (where my enthusiasm dries up in the middle of everything without polishing up anything).
I am also a person who is too greedy to eat achcharu (chili/salt/pepper/vinegar mixed in sour fruits) – the name itself waters my mouth 😁
